For the past 10 years, Carolyn has assisted in the development and management of an online retail venture that specialises in sports memorabilia and merchandise. Previous to this, she held positions as media planner for a high-profile Gold Coast ad agency, marketing coordinator at Raptis Group, and advertising representative for the Gold Coast Bulletin.
Her most demanding role to date is as full-time mum to three energetic boys.

Carolyn’s wealth of knowledge and experience make her an asset as senior account manager for LMW. Her client list includes Alexander Property Group, Macquarie Group and FKP.

Anthony Frew Account Coordinator

Anthony began his road to LMW at the Queensland University of Technology as a science student, majoring in biotechnology. After three years spent in and out of test tubes, splicing genes and sequencing DNA, Anthony began to fear for his social life, so he shed the white coat and hit the white peaks of Whistler.

The following year, Anthony was back in Oz and enrolled in a Masters Degree in Business, majoring in marketing. He worked as a marketing assistant for a Brisbane printing firm as well as with a Brisbane events marketing company, before walking into the advertising world as account coordinator for LMW.
Anthony continues to prove his passion for learning and innate curiosity on a daily basis at LMW. He possesses an extremely keen eye for detail, and an unwavering determination to achieve his best and demand the best from others. Anthony works closely with Rebecca Madsen on a number of our key accounts, including Leighton Properties, and is the account manager on our Raptis Hilton Surfers Paradise Hotel & Residences account.

Candice Pearce Account Coordinator

Candice came to LMW with an impressive list of work and life experience, not to mention plenty of energy and enthusiasm!

A local Gold Coast talent, Candice travelled far and wide – to South Africa, Europe and Asia – before settling into the Queensland marketing game.
Her initial roles included personal assistant to the general manager of Philco Financial Strategies, and project marketer at Colliers PRD in Surfers Paradise.

With a full real estate licence acquired from REIQ and experience in project property marketing, Candice is well-suited to work on the LMW stable of high-market property accounts. Working closely with Carolyn Meo for clients such as Alexander Property Group, Macquarie Group and FKP, Candice continues to make extremely valuable contributions to the LMW team.

Production

Steve Stockell Production Manager

Steve started his career in film props design and build in the UK and Spain. His love of surfing led him straight to Australia, where he branched into graphic design as well as electronic media as a cameraman and editor.

It wasn’t long until Steve was producing animations and graphics, eventually progressing to full non-linear editing on a basic hybrid computerised system. In 1992, he was approached to work at the only fully digital computerised edit studio for television production on the Gold Coast. In 1995, Steve started his own company, Imagination Station, a progressive media services company.

Steve loves to talk, lots (just ask him!). This led to a lecturing post at Bond University for the School of Humanities and Social Science Centre for Film, Television and Interactive Media. In 2003, the School of Information Technology at the Gold Coast Institute of TAFE offered Steve a contract to develop the new Diploma of Graphic Design curriculum.

Steve joined LMW in March 2004 and has been applying his renowned can-do attitude to his role ever since. He’s our production expert in television and cinema, radio, outdoor, and all forms of print media design. He takes care of production and print planning negotiation and management, ensuring proactive management throughout the production process. Steve’s the man who makes certain all advertising and design production (from business cards to shop fit-outs) is delivered to the highest quality, on time and to budget.

Creative

Shane Cresser Creative Director

Trained in graphic design at the Queensland School of Printing and Graphic Arts in Brisbane, Shane kicked off his career as a graphic designer with a national printing franchise. Here he stayed for more than five years, transferring midway to the Gold Coast to head up the art room at the company’s Southport office.

With a passion for surfing and an active lifestyle, Shane strived to mix his pastimes with his work, and successfully won the position of Art Director at Morrison Media. Here, he worked on magazine titles such as Riptide, Slam, Kiwi Surf, Powderhound, Snowboarder and Freerider MX.

Shane’s next adventure came in self-(un)employment, when he worked for a host of his own clients including Team Betta Electrical (V8 Supercars) and CAT Racing (V8 Supercars), as well as freelancing with a number of Gold Coast agencies as designer and art director. It was during this time that Shane first graced the halls of LMW.

Six years later, Shane is now the agency’s Creative Director. He inspires and leads the creative team, and works closely with our account managers to formulate accurate and original creative briefs. Shane enjoys the challenges and diversities of working in advertising and looks forward to the next tricky brief!

John Keen Art Director

Graduating from the Queensland College of Art in 1990, John’s design career began at a Canberra-based publishing company where he worked on magazine layouts, direct mail and press advertising. When an opportunity with the Axis Group Australia knocked on his door, John moved to the tropics of Darwin to manage the company’s design studio and assist with the establishment of an in-house pre-press facility.

When the Axis Group relocated to the Gold Coast, so did John. His department was reworked to become a digital bureau, and while working as Art Director, John also managed to learn almost everything there is to know about IT.

In 1997, he moved over to Redrock Media as Art Director, working on a number of national magazine titles. In 2000, John left Redrock to freelance for a number of clients, including Infinity Advertising in Southport, and LMW, where he received the grounding in real estate advertising that later proved valuable for his current role as Art Director.

John has been with LMW for seven years. Not only a talented and insightful Art Director, John’s also our technology guru. His inexhaustible knowledge of all things IT (not to mention his never-ending patience) has made him our go-to guy for any and all mod-con malfunctions.

Wyatt Leslie Art Director

Wyatt’s international design career began in 1999 when, with a Diploma of Computer Graphic Design in hand, he ventured from Wellington, New Zealand, to London to begin his career as a junior designer at corporate design agency Intergraphic.

Two years later, he couldn’t resist an urge to spread his wings a little further, so he up and moved to Bahrain to begin work as a middleweight designer for Intergraphic’s sister company, QED Advertising. Another two years later, and with exposure to multinational clients such as BMW, Mitsubishi, Colgate and Burger King, Wyatt had fallen in love with the advertising business.

It was about this time that Wyatt was headhunted by regional heavyweight FortunePromoSeven, and he jumped at the chance to take an art director role at their head office in Dubai. Here he created many regional through-the-line campaigns for global brands, such as MasterCard, Heineken, Sony, HP, Suzuki and Pioneer.

Wyatt joined the LMW family in September 2007, and already his wealth of international knowledge has proved invaluable to the creative team. He’s excited by the idea of making his mark on Queensland advertising and looks forward to creating some stellar work for the LMW client list.

Louise Smith Graphic Designer

Ever since she was a little girl, Louise has loved art. Now, she gets paid to ‘colour in’!

Immediately after completing her graphic design diploma, Louise landed a position at Gold Coast tourist publication BEST of the Gold Coast as Graphic Designer. Loads of talent and commitment quickly carried Louise to the position of Creative Director and In-house Photographer. Her work here gave her a firm grasp and understanding of Gold Coast tourism-related media.

From here, Louise moved onto local agency Media Mix, where she took a role as Art Director. Her client list included the Gold Coast Tourism Bureau, Rockhampton Bank, Kawana Waters Shopping Centre and various Sunshine Coast real estate developments.

Louise has been part of the LMW creative team for more than two years, and brings to the table more than eight years of valuable industry experience.

Louise’s talents don’t end at graphic design. She is an accomplished artist, often called upon for her illustration skills. Painting, photography and clothing design are some of her personal artistic endeavours, along with organic gardening and a passion for creative writing. She was awarded Highly Commended entries in the Sydney Morning Herald Young Writer of the Year Competition in 1996, 1997 and 1998, and aims to complete her first fiction novel by the time she turns 35.

Mike Shankster Graphic Designer

Willingness to learn and raw talent catapulted Mike into the world of graphic design. Beginning as an apprentice in his hometown of Jindabyne, Mike worked as a designer for Phase IX, followed by Blizzard Publishing. Along the way, he’s managed to pick up regional, national and international awards for his work, including a Diploma of Excellence for Graphic Design Technology in the 2005 Wordskills International Graphic Design Competition held in Helsinki, Finland.
Mike contributes energy and experience to the LMW creative team. As an avid skier, mean guitarist and insightful graphic designer, he brings original design concepts and natural talent to the table every single day.

Carmela Olyslagers Graphic Designer

Always inspired by the creative world, Carmela completed a diploma of Graphic Design at the Commercial Arts Training College. With an initial interest in publishing, she began working for a Sydney-based newspaper, where she stayed for just over a year before landing a position as graphic designer for Abode magazine on the Gold Coast.

In this position, Carmela was able to broaden her horizons, working on a variety of other publications, including Aura, Go Boating and Go Fishing. She also worked on various design projects of partner company All Type Colour Printing.

Carmela joined LMW at the tail end of 2007, and has since made a huge impression. Her commitment to her role, unswerving diligence and imaginative mind are extremely valuable additions to the creative studio.

Samantha Brennan Copywriter

A love of books that began at birth made it pretty clear that Sam was destined to work with words. After a short time in the Bachelor of Applied Finance program at Macquarie University in Sydney, she transferred to a Bachelor of Media, majoring in writing, and has never looked back.

Starting her writing career in the world of glossies, Sam worked for some of the country’s most respected magazine titles, including Australian House & Garden and CLEO. She then made the jump into the world of freelance, and spent the better part of a year doing the rounds at Sydney publishing houses as subeditor and copywriter.

Moving to the Gold Coast at the end of 2007, and with a portfolio filled with editorial and advertorial work, Sam quickly found a home in the LMW office as our internal copywriter.
